LLM configuration guide

To use CondeNext, the only required configuration is to setup LLMs for autocomplete and chat features. If you didn’t set them up as prompted during onboarding, here are the manual steps to do that.

LLM configuration

  1. Click CodeNext.app from Applicaitons folder.
  2. After CodeNext.app running, click the logo </> -> Settings… from Mac menu bar.
  3. Select Models tab in the navigation sidebar on the left, then click + buttons to set up LLMs for Autocomplete and Chat respectively.
  4. Repeat Step 3 to set up multiple LLMs if you want.
  5. Select a default LLM for Autocomplete since only one LLM will be used in Autocomplete, while Chat can connect to different LLMs in each Chat tab.
  6. Optionally, choose a default LLM for Chat when adding LLMs for it, which will be used by default in each Chat tab. But there is a context menu for each Chat tab to choose which LLM to use.

Note: both Autocomplete and Chat allow to configure multiple LLMs, but Autocomplete only can use one at a time though you can switch LLMs anytime. Chat function supports multiple chat conversations in different Chat tabs and each Chat tab can select its own LLM to use.
